Polara Studio

Among other things, Polara Studio are some of the best food and product photographers in the business.

I’ve built a few iterations of their website over the years, but this time around we decided to start with a clean slate to take advantage of as many modern media and layout tools as possible.

I took a graphic approach to type scale and layout to place maximum emphasis on video and photography. The color palette is high contast, but desaturated, for the same reason.

While having significant impact on large screens the site is still extremely scannable on small screens. This gives a quick sense of the range of their work while providing visitors wanting to dive into something specific multiple ways to do that.

This site is built on a heavily customized WordPress/Timber backend and is performant without needing to do too much of anything special with host configuration.
